General Roofing Installation Guidelines
Tools & Materials
• Roof Sheeting: Choose the appropriate size and material (e.g., polycarbonate, fibreglass roofing sheets).
• Fasteners: Use Durofast fasteners suitable for steel or wood.
• Support: Duro Infill Polybrix for extra support and waterproofing patch for extra support.
• Purlins: Ensure correct spacing, or adjusting for wind load.
Installation Steps
1. Measure Area:
• Measure the area where you will lay your roof sheets to make sure that it cover the overall area carefully.
• Use Duro’s sheet calculator.
Example: For an 8.2m wide roof with 3.3m sheeting, you will need 12 sheets (cover width: 686mm for IBR).
2. Cut Sheets:
• Standard sizes: 2.4m, 3.0m, 3.6m (custom lengths up to 10.8m).
• Cut to fit your roof’s length and width.
3. Prepare the Roof:
• Drill holes 3mm larger than the fasteners diameter (ie. oversized holes). • Ensure UV-coated side of the roof sheet faces upward.
• Remove any labels after installation.
4. Sheet Placement:
• Install on high ridges, not in valleys.
• Overlap sheets by at least 150mm.
5. Fastening:
• Duroproof Lapseal for extra reinforcement in windy areas.
• Do not overtighten fasteners.
• Purlin spacing: standard for your chosen profile, reduced for high wind areas.
• Use our Timber nails or Self-Drillers for simple DIY applications or for professional use.
• Polybrix: Infill Strips for (CORR / WAVE) (IBR / RIB)
roof sheeting, for better support and waterproofing
6. Overhang Limits:
• Max overhang: IBR 100mm, Corrugated 100mm, Widek 120mm.
7. Final Steps:
• Ensure all joints and overlaps are sealed.
• Inspect for secure fastening.
